On Sunday when I rode up to Squamish for the memorial ride, I also made arrangements to meet up with a couple of fellow scooterists.
Meet Scooterchick & Scootard
They live in Squamish, which the locals fondly refer to as Squampton. Scooterchick recently purchased a Kymco B&W250 scooter, and Scootard rides a Yamaha Majesty. Our paths have probably crossed before as I vaguely remember meeting them at our local Kymco Dealer . They recently rode their scooters to Portland and wrote a ride report here .
Of course I knew what they looked like as they posted their photos on their ride report, but this was our first "encounter"
I managed to get a snap of the three of us, with Scooterchick sandwiched in the middle. Chris is a long time rider having owned motorcycles for many decades. It is a recent addiction with Scooterchick and she wants to ride everywhere. They split their time here between Squamish and their other home in Oklahoma
We grabbed an intimate table by the window and service was very slow, which gave us lots of time to chat about this and that. I was famished as I did not have anything to eat when I left home before 8am. I thought that I wound have eaten by now but we waited nearly 2 hours to get our food. I had the omelette but Scooterchick was more adventurous and had the Chorizo sausage with eggs. Everything tastes good when you are starving.
I thought that I would be seeing them ride their scooters to breakfast but the weather was iffy and they drove. After breakfast they came out to look at my V-strom. Notice that the sun is shining . . .
Meeting Scootard and Scooterchick was like meeting old friends. They are quite active on ADVrider.com but I mentioned that there is also a great Blogger community, so Scooterchick decided to start a BLOG.
She is not familiar with Blogger but she learns fast. If you get a chance why don't you visit her site and give her some encouragement. You will find her BLOG HERE
